When we arrive in Podnanos, we turn left towards the nearby primary school, post office and shop. We park on the large car park in front of the mentioned buildings.
There are notice boards about Nanos nearby, which will direct us towards the road next to the nearby school playground. We continue straight along the road, which turns left and ends at a nearby house. We continue across a small bridge and then turn immediately right. At the end of the town, we will arrive at the crossroads, where we continue to the right. We continue the journey along the tarmac road, which will take us a few dozen meters further to the next crossroads, where we turn right. We continue along the tarmac road and turn right at the end of the road. We continue walking in the direction of markings and signs in the direction of the Vojko Lodge on Nanos.
When we step on the road where the path from Gradišče above Vipava connects from the left side, we continue to the right and we reach the asphalt tarmac road that leads to Nanos. We continue along the road until the next turn, where the markings direct us to the footpath on the right. The path will first take us past a large chapel, which is visible from afar. Somewhat above the chapel we will encounter a marked crossroads, where we continue to the right, in the direction of the Vojko Lodge.
We continue straight on and take the well-trodden and marked path from the Vojkovo Hunting Lodge to the Vojko Lodge on Nanos.
When we reach the mentioned path, we follow it on the right side (the hunting lodge is 10 minutes to the left) that will take us across the grassy slopes. The path then takes a slight turn to the right and begins to climb over the increasingly scenic slopes of Nanos. Soon the footpath will take us to the Church of Saint Jerome that is noticeable from afar.
The duration of the hike is approximately three hours and a half.
