BECOME A WINEMAKER FOR A DAY!
Making one's own wine may sound like a distant dream to many wine lovers.
But not in Vipava!
We offer you the opportunity to become a winemaker! Winemaker for a day or more! You can be a winegrower and winemaker 365 days a year. It depends on you how much you want to get involved in the fascinating process of creating wine that perfectly suits your taste. You can make all decisions along the way: from choosing and planting grape varieties to growing your own grapes, from blending and ageing wine to bottling and designing your own label.
There are many different possibilities to create and research. Pick the one that suits you best. You will be guided through all workshops/packages by our trained team.
You will learn the art of creating a unique blend of the best wines that we offer, tailored to your tastes and desires. You will be provided with training and all necessary information, our quality Vipava wines and all the equipment you need to make a bottle of your own wine. You only need to bring your creativity with you!
Our team will support and guide you through the whole process, teach you how to distinguish between different grape varieties, explain what to look for in wine and advise you on how to mix wines in different combinations and ratios. After the guided tasting, you will understand what gives the wine its character, aroma and taste. And with all this new knowledge, you will strive to achieve something truly special, something that you can proudly call your wine. If you want to make the bottle even more personal, you will be able to bottle the wine, label it with your own label and seal it with a cork, so that you can have the pleasure of holding A BOTTLE OF YOUR OWN WINE.
Did you know that acacia barrels are often used for the maturation of Malvasia, as the aroma of acacia wood goes very well with the characteristics of this grape variety? You can learn about this when mixing wine from wooden barrels. You have the opportunity to mix wines that have already been aged, as well as younger wines.
Take viticulture as a hobby as we offer you to work in the vineyard for a day or more. Work is done in every season of the year, and you never run out of work in the vineyard and wine cellar. Multiple visits offer you the opportunity to follow the winemaking process from the vine to the bottle.
Have you ever wanted to fully understand the complex process of winemaking? Nothing gives you a better insight than when you experience the whole cycle of winemaking from vine to bottle yourself.
What we can offer you is a unique opportunity to work with a winemaker and get educated. Work in the vineyard is not done only during the harvest, it is a year-round thing. We will adjust the work in the vineyard or wine cellar depending on your booking. Before the harvest itself, you are not making only winemaking decisions, but also on what procedures you will carry out in the field. After the harvest, you will be able to decide what will happen to the wine in all subsequent stages of winemaking.
You'll be able to help create a new blend, keep track of wine ageing, wash barrels, bottle wine, label bottles and much more.
Our job is to guide you through each step and make sure that in the end you will proudly show what you have learned and prepared.
