Get to know the Nanos Plateau

From Vipava, we head towards the village of Podnanos. We continue our journey through the village along the old road through Rebrnice. When we start to climb, a brown sign directs us to the left towards the Nanos Plateau. In front of us the road climbs past the trough valleys on which we make a cumulative elevation gain of several hundred metres. We cycle past the Vojkovo Hunting Lodge and Podraška House in the direction of the Abram Agritourism Farm. We cycle over Ravnik and start descending towards the village of Sanabor, where there is the Church of St. Daniel, and well preserved remains from the First World War on the hill. The path takes us back to the valley. On the left there is the Bela torrent, where you can refresh yourself or test your climbing skills. Above the village of Vrhpolje there is is the Cross of Theodosius, which was erected to mark the famous battle between Theodosius the Great and Eugenius. We continue towards Vipava through the wine-growing village of Vrhpolje.
