Welcome to the pleasant village of Duplje, nestled among the vineyards of the Vipava Valley, where the vines are lovingly tended by the caring hands of the farmers. With a walk through the vineyards and a magnificent view of the mighty Nanos, you can listen to the birds or to your heart. Here you can end a wonderful day at the Nusdorfer Wine Cellar - at the Skonce family.

The wine bar is a family tradition that goes back several decades. The first vines were planted by my grandfather Avgust, but this was not enough for the family to survive. The main source of income was horses drawn in carts, which were used to transport the sand needed for building to the people in and around the Vipava Valley.

After the death of his grandfather in 1981, his son Avgust took over the farm. With the renovation of the vineyards, he set a new path for the farm. He has focused on producing and selling quality wine that is interesting and, above all, appealing to a wider range of people. From the pomace of the grapes, he produced a spirit that local call šnopc. This is still the custom today.

Over the years, he passed on his knowledge to his son Damijan, who today owns vineyards and a winery with his family. The Velbana cellar-house in the farmhouse, lovingly made by Father August, offers a cosy homely atmosphere where you can taste the wines we offer alone or in private company.

For guests who make an appointment, we organise a tour of the cellar, with wine tasting. Up to 25 people can be accommodated.
