A compact settlement with narrow streets, tightly built around the parish church, stands on the gently sloping back of the Vipava hills between the Vipava and Branik valleys. In the oldest part of the village, around the church, the houses are arranged in a grid, in continuous rows along two long parallel streets that stick to the church, with continuously built up short streets running transversely between them. Almost all houses in the village feature interesting carved architectural elements.
Altar signs
There are four altar signs - processional altars with relief depictions of motifs from the Passion of Jesus. Stylistically, they are related to the portal in the village cemetery; on the table stands a pillar extension with a pair of Ionic pillars and Ionic pilasters, which carry a frame with an interrupted segmental gable and a cross in the middle, and there is a stone figural relief in the throne.
